RESIDENTS BEWARE!!! SCAM REGARDING AMEREN BILL

A new scam is hitting the area--Someone may call and state your electricity will be disconnected if you don't pay your Ameren bill today!!!
They may ask for your credit card to pay now!!! DON'T DO IT!!!
A property owner received such a call but checked the bank account and the bill had already been paid. They also called the Toll Free number for Ameren, who also stated the bill had already been paid.
Ameren will mail you notices regarding late payments NOT OVER A PHONE CALL AND DEMAND IMMEDIATE PAYMENT.
Be careful who you give information to regarding your credit card or banking information!
